| Animac travels to China with a selection of 17 animated short films |
The show from Lleida will be promoting national producers.
The International Animated Film Festival from Lleida – ANIMAC, organised by the Cultural Department of Lleida’s Town Council, has set up the project ANIMAC ON TOUR, which consists on the promotion of Catalan and Spanish animation around the world. The first destination is China, where ANIMAC will be presenting a selection of 17 short films by Spanish authors. From June until October, the films will be travelling to Hangzhou, Beijing, Shangai and Chendu, four of the Chinese cities that receive the “International Exposition of Animation and Comic Industry from China 2005”, organised by the Chinese Government, and where there will also be an exposition of drawings and other materials connected with the Spanish animation.
Animac on Tour is an itinerant and international show of Catalan and Spanish animation centred on the author’s products, creation projects and experimental proposals, with special incidence on the work of young creators. The consolidation of the presence of Catalan and Spanish Animation at international circuits, the link between our animation with international entities and festivals, together with the creation of good relationships with international centres of production, formation and exhibition are the main objectives of this project that will start with the trip to China.
Encarna (by SAM), Animal (by Miguel Díez La Sangre), Tiempo de Soleá (by Samuel Restucci and Emilio Romero), The Trumouse Show (by Julio Robledo), Retrato de D (by María Lorenzo), Corten (by Mario Iglesias), Mum’s Birthday (by Carolina López), Música per a Perplexes (by Laura Ginès), Minotauromaquia (by Juan Pablo Etcheverry), El aparecido (by Diego Agudo), El ladrón navideño (by Javier Tostado), Top Gum (by Víctor Vinyals), ¿Con qué la lavaré? (by María Trénor), Chick (by Blanca Palou), Citoplasmas en Medio Ácido (by Irene Iborra, Eduard Puertas and David Gautier), El enigma del chico croqueta (by Pablo Llorens) and Sr. Trapo (by Raúl Díez) are the short films that are already being screened in China.
Isabel Herguera wins two awards The circulation and promotion of ANIMAC is also growing through its director’s work, Isabel Herguera, who in the last weeks has won two awards. On the one hand, the 6th edition of the Corti da Sogni Festival from Ravenna (Italy) awarded La gallina ciega with the “Corto Cortissimo Award”. This short film by Isabel Herguera has also been given the first prize on the 3rd edition of the Tiflos de Cine Corto Audesc Awards, announced by the National Organization of the Spanish Blind (ONCE). The presentation of this prize will take place on June the 13th in Madrid.
